How does it Work?
Ready-mix concrete from a volumetric mixer is metered and mixed on site, rather than batched in an area concrete plant. Sand, stone, cement, and water are contained in separate compartments on the volumetric truck while driving to the construction site. Once the truck reaches its final destination, the ingredients are metered, mixed and poured together, ensuring accurate and fresh concrete.
What are the Benefits?
The concept of a volumetric mixer began in the early 1960s as a method for delivering a controlled amount of concrete at a constant rate to a particular job. Today, volumetric concrete trucks save money and time when used on residential concrete jobs such as porches, patios, or driveways, and commercial concrete jobs such as pilings or office foundations.
In addition, mobile concrete mixing makes it easy to produce colored concreted, fast setting concrete, high durability concrete, and other specialty mixes.
